Alternative Varnish Sealing – The Quick Compromise

Posted by on May 10, 2022 0

Rinse seals are popular, and not without reason. It is very easy and quick to use, and since it can be used as part of the sink, the time spent at work will be very limited.

A rinse seal, also called rinse coating, often contains silica, chemically termed SiO2, which is one of the primary contributors to a relatively good durability, if measured in relation to the work effort.

Typically, a rinse seal has a shelf life of 1 – 3 months, depending on the manufacturer, the work done before the seal is applied and of course the car’s usage pattern. On an ongoing basis, if the weather allows it, you can then apply more to keep the protection running.

The protective properties that a rinse seal provides are comparable to a good spray wax, but typically with better water-repellent properties and durability on the repellent effect.

In terms of protection, our experience is not that it is on a par with a real lacquer seal, but if the time is not right for the larger lacquer treatment, then the rinse seal will give a significant boost and will of course be far better than no protection before winter.

Here’s how you do it…

The procedure is the same from Point 1 to 5, except that after the 5th step, DO NOT wipes the paint. Rinse seals should be applied to a wet and cool surface and then rinsed off immediately.

Rinse seal is applied:  On wet and cool varnish, apply Rinse Seal on one body part at a time, and immediately rinse thoroughly with a hard water jet or high pressure until all product residues are gone. Remember that you may spray the rinse seal on the surrounding body parts, which must therefore also be rinsed. Continue until the entire car is treated, finishing if necessary with a light rinse on all surfaces, from top to bottom. Finally wipe thoroughly with Microfiber Towel and dry if necessary seams and details with loose microfiber cloths.

The winter rims can also be easy to wash…

You may also want to give your rims a one-time rim sealer so they are easier to hold. As with the paint, the Rim Sealer provides a protective film that makes it difficult for the dirt, brake dust and salt to bind. And in that a membrane of rims has been laid, you also get rid of irritated rims if you drive on alloy wheels in the winter.

It is easy to use, especially if you apply it before fitting the rims. Apply Rim Sealer to the rims with a Foam Applicator, wait an hour and then wipe the product with Microfiber Cloth Delicious.

Just remember the prewash!

Winter dirt and grime is extra challenging for your Bilvask, and when the apartment offers itself for a good wash, it is about using a prewash, is has the properties to loosen the heavy dirt layer, as well as the traffic film and salt.

Therefore, it is worth considering whether the prewash should not be upgraded with a Pump Sprayer so that you can mix your prewash accurately, to get the most effective result.

A foam lance is great for the lighter treatments, for those who wash the car often, or if you have the time to use it repeatedly, to get dirt and grime loosened. But the foam lance will always dilute your prewash products to a much greater degree than a good Pump Sprayer, as it adds relatively large amounts of water to the mixture you make in the mixing bottle.

When you’re prewash mixture comes out of your Pump Sprayer, the action time on the paint is also shorter, which makes the process shorter and more efficient.
