Government moves to check violence against children
The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, has said measures are set up to conquer the hardship looked by kids who fall, survivors of hostility, particularly in strife zones.
In an announcement by the Director of Press in the service, Shehu Maikai, the clergyman, while watching the current year’s International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression yesterday in Abuja, said the Federal Government had set out on crusades to alleviate the privation kids face from brutality and the furious COVID-19 scourge.
She said different methodologies incorporate the authorization of the Child Rights Act and other global and territorial settlements to secure the Nigerian kid.
A portion of the settlements, as indicated by her, are “the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989); the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (1990); the Optional Protocol on the Involvement of Children and Armed Conflicts (2000) and the Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography (2000).”
