For some days now, telecommunication lines have been down in Zamfara State  based on a government order as a way to curb banditry. 

The development comes after a temporary lockdown on communities prone to banditry in Katsina, Kaduna, Niger, and Zamfara states.

Will the ban on telecommunications make a difference in the fight against banditry?
